Pretty GoodNov 17, 2009 Laptop was overheating causing unexpected shut down. This fan has kept the laptop cool enough to stay on and not shut down. Try different seating arrangements for you laptop on the fan.
Bad design, terrible for big laptops, broke quicklyNov 16, 2009 I'll keep this short and bitter. I have a 17" laptop (Gateway 7811) that I play games on. Wanted something not too bulky to sit between the laptop and my lap and provide some additional cooling.
This thing is a little too small for a laptop of this size but doesn't do too badly. The #1 main issue is the terrible USB plug design. The power plug piece broke due to cord placement. Overall, when working, it provided a very small amount of cooling (about 4-5 degrees according to speedfan). The inability to turn off the super bright blue LED, the cord storage panel on the bottom popping off frequently, and the overall cheap quality of design/materials all contributed to me hating this thing. But the terrible USB power plug design was really the main issue. That plug will snap or break, it's only a matter of time.
Antec does the jobNov 15, 2009 After over a month, I am very satisfied with the Antec Cooler and would order it again. Durability is still an open question, but at this price, I would be very happy to get two years out of it.
PROS
Fairly priced

CONS
"On" light is a laser-like blue LED from hell
:)Nov 14, 2009 After I've gotten this cooler, my laptop stopped acting out. It arrived pretty fast. It works perfectly and
I'm satisfied with my purchase.
Durable and cools well, at least for my Dell Studio 1555Nov 11, 2009 Like I said, I have a Dell Studio 1555, which seemed to heat up substantially when running resource-intensive programs such as video playing or games. At first, after reading several reviews here saying that the laptop cooling ports have to be at certain positions in order to work, I had second thoughts as my laptop had its vents at weird positions. Nevertheless, I took a chance and bought it.
After a week, it cools well; I have no idea the specific difference in temperature, but the underside now feels a lot cooler when viewing videos or running Adobe CS4. Haven't opened up trusty ol' CoD 4 yet, so no idea if it'll get any hotter if I do.
The cooler itself is quite durable. The entire thing is plastic (save the aluminum cover, which helps to draw the heat away), but the construction is solid. There are large feet on all four bottom corners, and four rubber pegs are included for elevating your laptop (if it doesn't fit).
All in all, it's a good cooling pad. A good buy, especially for its price.
