46 inches of Goodness!Dec 05, 2008 OK. Where do I start. I started seriously researching TVs about a month ago. I read many of these reviews and others. The good and the bad. I have had this TV for about a week and so far it has been amazing! The picture quality is awesome!! (HD)
I must say I am very happy with my purchase. Amazon had this television at least $400.00 cheaper the department stores during Black Friday week. This is the first time I have made such a big purchase ONLINE. I have no regrets other than waiting a week to receive my set. Pilot Air Freight scheduled an appointment by phone and delivered no problem.
Glare has not been an issue with my set and have a "S" Panel as well.
So, now that I have replaced my 27' Tube from 15 years ago with a Samsung LCD I had to upgrade everything else. I also purchase a HT-A100 Samsung Home Theatre system that seems to work well for my space. I just have get used to the remotes and features.
This is a GREAT TV. Don't hesitate to buy. AMAZON offers the best deal. The Price does tend to fluctuate. When I purchased it, it was $100.00 less that it was today. NO tax, NO Shipping, Free Blu-Ray Player was also a BONUS.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wait for pre-Thanksgiving price and offerDec 05, 2008 The day before Thanksgiving this TV was $1514, with a free blueray player and 24-month financing. Amazon since cranked up the price by $100 and withdrew their free blueray player offer. I hope everyone waits and forces them to match their pre-Thanksgiving offer again. They are trying to take advantage of folks who must have the TV by Xmas.
Excellent LCDDec 04, 2008 This LCD looks great on our wall and it performs well. Great space saver, resolution, colour, sound and brightness. The red frame matches the colour of the wall and adds some style to the TV. I haven't found any limits with this TV. The series 7 from Samsung doesn't offer much more in features and performance. The problem with the firmware was easily solved in less than 15 minutes. I comprehensively researched this TV and couldn't find another TV to better it. Samsung definitely wins on price and quality. We have had it 8 months running most days without a problem. I am yet to buy a 1080p player to realise the full potential in movies. I have connected an Apple TV Apple TV with 160GB Hard Drive - MB189LL/A which produces the 1080p resolution and I can say it is impressive. I have setup the TV as a hub through which all inputs (players, stereo & ATV) are played. The sound quality is good and the signal improvement on analog cable TV is very good. I have connected my desktop PC to it without any problems and it produces and interesting format for game play, however, not an option for harden gamers. I don't regret the money spent on this one.
Beautiful TVDec 04, 2008 We got this TV after a Wii-mote got hurled into our 3 year old Sharp Aquos LCD. We debated a lot between plasma and LCD for this new purchase (I like the depth and richness of plasma, my boyfriend likes LCD), as well as between the 550 and the 650 Samsung versions. We ultimately ended up going for the 650 because of the 120hz technology, the super rich color (which I thought rivaled that of the Samsung plasmas), and the stylish red color frame.
The picture is fantastic, after having fiddling with it for a while. We turn off the 120hz feature for TV watching because it makes the picture look like video, kind of flat, but turn it on for gaming, and also change the color settings for gaming and movie watching as well, and it looks amazing. The sound is ok (we have it going to surround, so rarely use just the TV sound), and it looks great, very sleek, with only a very subtle hint of red.
The placement of the ports could also be a bit better, there is no standard composite video on the back, just the side, unless you take up one of the two component ports with composite.
Overall, however, we love it, and would highly recommended it.
