Just what i neededNov 16, 2009 This was just the hard drive i needed that'll go between my mac, pc, and my ps3.
ps3 will only recognize fat32 hdd and i didn't think i was going to find a hdd this size
formatted with that filesystem. i'm really impressed with the product and would
recommend it to anyone looking to use a high volume hdd across operating software
I've not gone wrong yet with Western DigitalNov 16, 2009 The only hurdle with Western Digital appears when you're in a Mac environment. Sure, they say My Books are usable in both environments BUT they are tight-lipped when it comes to directions for reformatting the drive for Mac. Otherwise, Western Digital is definitely the way to go for competitively-priced external hard drives.
GarrrrrrrrbageNov 16, 2009 Do not buy this drive.
Half the time, the hard drive itself won't mount.
But, it'll mount a fake CD rom drive everytime, with worthless software to "backup" your computer to the hard drive.
But then like I said, half the time, you can't see the hard drive as a drive in "My Computer" itself.
You have to reboot. Uhh...srsly? Yeah. Pretty lame.
I had to dig through my nasty garbage can to find the receipt, and let me tell you...it was worth it. I do NOT want to be stuck with this lame lame lame drive.
DO NOT BUY!
Also, in under 2 weeks of use, a lot of data somehow became inaccessible. I could see the folder name, but then when I tried to open it, Windoze would say something like "Uh, there is no data in here, this might refer to a network location." I can't get the exact error msg, cuz this thing is packed and I do not want to have it around no more.
Great Product - great ServiceNov 15, 2009 This product is great. I have already suggested that others also get this product since it is easy to use and it will hold a lot of files and photos. You can store data on it from more than one computer. It is small and is very convenient.
Great product , reliable and easy to useNov 13, 2009 I had to format the drive to NTFS after which I copied all my data successfully. I have been using for over a month now without any problems. It is a great product and I really like the form factor with blue LED's to display hard disk status.
